    1. Another short mystery in the Mrs. Meade series, this time with an older gentleman who is murdered and several people with opportunity--yet who would really have the ultimate motive? Some basic sleuthing and a twist or two make this a great light read of a story to put up your feet and enjoy.Language: a few "blasted"s.

    2. Another good cozy mystery story from Elisabeth Grace Foley. Beautifully written as ever in a lovely vintage style. This time I particularly enjoyed the gleams of dry humour which kept me chuckling, and the character of Mrs Meade, the quiet, middle-aged lady detective who pulls strings behind the scenes, unmasking dangerous murderers from afar without once compromising her ladylike poise.

    3. Another highly enjoyable addition to Miss Foley's Mrs. Meade Mysteries. This one firmly cemented Sheriff Royal's station as one of my favorite lawmen/police inspectors of the genre. His lines and characterization are pure gold.

    4. Another great Mrs Meade mystery! Not quite as good as The Oldest Flame, which is still my favorite in this series, but very enjoyable all the same! I especially loved the way certain characters from the first Mrs Meade book, The Silver Shawl, returned to help her solve this mystery.

    5. Another well-written and enjoyable addition to the series, which is perfect for those who enjoy a cosy mystery with their cup of tea.
