    1. This title is no longer available from Ellora's Cave. Instead, Loose Id has picked up the title and helped me do some substantial edits. And this is OUT now! if you have questions ask, and I'll be happy to answer them. And yes, I rated my own book. I have four of my books rated to show new readers where my favorites are and which books I would recommend they start with. This is definitely one of my favorites. I do love an alpha male submissive.

    2. 3.5 starsDa’shay and Tom chained together, each at an end of the chain, connected. Strength, weakness, needs, desires, love, flow both ways. I found Da’shay’s words strangely poetic and moving. Tom desire to understand her won the day and the battle.I’m glad I read this and that I can think of them there somewhere in time, in an alternate universe or not.I could see Ms Gala’s love for Serenity through influences in this story. Yes this story can totally be read and enjoyed by non-Seren [...]

    3. “Others don’t listen. Only Tom hears my music,” she whispered, and she sounded almost sad about that.Stepping forward, Tom caught her hand without the scarf and pulled it to his heart in a mirror of the gesture she’d used with him. “Don’t give a shit about others. I’m listening. I ain’t going to promise to always understand, but I’m listening,” he vowed. Sigh. Can I give this more than 5 stars? What a delightful, delightful book. This is scifi romance done so well. We are tre [...]

    4. So, I'm in a femdom state of mind and this book was recommended as such.Sigh, what it is in fact is a whole lot of sci-fi stuff that is at times interesting but is mostly confusing, tiring, or too much-y. What's more, Tom reads like Gala's other grumpy/simple and single-minded/coarsely charming protagonist from her Firefly-esque fic The Only Way Out Is In. Thus, it's a bit redundant for me. As to the femdom, Gala should stick to writing m/m. She writes m/f awkwardly. She's also very hands-off-is [...]

    5. Da’shay is alien/human hybrid, on an all human spaceship. Tom is the plain spoken, security officer. I was expecting something from the story but got something else and it just made the story endless. Having read the author previously and knowing this was published by an erotic publisher, I was expecting erotica not a space odyssey. Told from Tom's perspective only, the story winds and meanders through space and a mystery of newly engineered aliens. The romance was slow to build. Tom ends up b [...]

    6. I’ve mainly read Gala’s M/M sci-fi romances, with Turbulence being the only M/F romance of hers that I’ve read prior to Blowback. So I was excited to read this book. In fact, I was anticipating reading it so much that I waited until the review was due to read it because I wanted it to last as long as possible because once I finished it, I had no idea how long I would have to wait for another of Gala’s sci-fi romances. I am both kicking my own metaphorical arse for not enjoying Blowback s [...]

    7. Oh my goodness! Jane from Serenity has his own book. Well, okay, the main character Tom in this book seems to be just like Jane from the movie Serenity (aka TV show Firefly). Tom is similar to Jane in that he is a shoot first and ask questions later kind of guy. Tom is a simple man. Anything too complicated isn't his cup of tea. He is a man who will follow orders only if he agrees with the one giving orders. What he doesn't like is a half breed alien who makes no sense and he figures she's a dan [...]

    8. I absolutely loved this story. Definitely one I will read again. It vaguely reminded me of the tv series Firefly so I was in love right off the bat. It was interesting to read a romance from the male point of view. I do agree with one of the reviewers who made a comment about wanting to know more of the female alien's backstory. I am pretty sure the author doesn't plan on continuing this story but I can always hope because I would definitely like to read more about Tom and his crew's adventures. [...]

    9. Wow!! Talk about unique characters! Da'shay is a beautifully dominant and kick ass woman who always tries to do the right thing. Tom is a soldier who is good with a gun and better at following orders. The two of them start off really rough, but when Da'shay rescues Tom from being sold as a slave, their antagonistic relationship transforms into reluctant trust and then full blown romance. Da'shay is the kind of female protagonist I want to read more of!

    10. 4.5 stars (rounded up to five because I can't resist a strong man able to slip into submission)Tagline: Tough alpha male soldier submits to the crazy, strong, and blue alien womanAn amazing tale from one of my favorite authors, some of the writing was more difficult and slow than typically found in light romances, but the payoff in the end was absolutely worth it for me. Lyn Gala writes a wide range of stories, including one of my absolute favorite m/m romances, Claimings Tails and Other Alien A [...]

    11. Review can be read at It's About The BookI had a really hard time getting into this book. I started reading several times and just couldn’t find the hook that keeps me focused on a story. Then one day I just started from the beginning and kept reading…and there it was, the hook. It wasn’t the world or the male protagonist, it was the female protagonist, Da’shay that finally hooked me. She’s an alien, mostly Genta with some human in the mix, her skin is blue-ish, she has long black hair [...]

    12. Note, review of Original Ellora's Cave Edition no longer available. Loose ID version may be different.4 -4.5 stars. Wow, Lyn Gala is one of my favorite sci/fi writers in both m/f and m/m. Tom's a soldier who doesn't play well with others and is assigned to his Captain because no one else will take him. An undercover job goes wrong and things go downhill from there especially when he meets someone who convinces him Da'shay is a problem. Da'shay is half genta, an alien race noted for their blue sk [...]

    13. I liked this book. Great world-building, fascinating and dynamic characters, and there were some truly interesting races. This is technically MF Romance, so I can't review it on my blog (which only reviews LGBTQ+ works), but I wanted people to know that I enjoyed it, and that female dominance is definitely hot. This isn't a typical BDSM. The rules are foreign because our Domme is an alien, but in ways that made it easier to understand. I loved Tom. He's pretty much a meat-head, but he has a deli [...]

    14. I read most of this book and then skipped to the end and started reading backwards. I liked the femdom aspect in a way. It was different. However, I wanted it to be private, not on display for everyone. Something about it was missing for me as well. Also Da'shay communicated like she was brain-damaged or something, imo, and it made for a frustrating read.

    15. but Blowback is a great action-packed and well-developed sci-fi romance with all the trimmings: kick ass heroine who’s also fragile, badass hero with temper issues, one well-written and hot common kink between the two, and an actual plot.
