    1. Tiger's Paw is a solidly-written urban fantasy novella with well-crafted world-building, strong action scenes, and an amusing pair of protagonists with repartee that could go on for days.First, world-building. For contemporary urban fantasy, it’s always challenging to integrate new species into modern earth without bogging down the plot. For the most part, Rogers does a good job. Her intro of ‘The Therian Way’ is effective, and she interweaves information about the Therians and the elves s [...]

    2. I have never read urban fantasy before, and Tiger's Paw is a great start. Humans, elves and shapeshifters live together in the modern city, even though the humans are mostly unaware of the shapeshifters who are trying to protect them from the fringe element who want to destroy them and the fragile peace.I loved how the main characters, the shapeshifters, are not just humans with fur and claws. They think and behave like animals. And the interplay between the very straitlaced Baran and the cheeky [...]

    3. I enjoyed Tiger's Paw. It was suspenseful and imaginative. I prefer more character arc and emotional development, however, so I probably won't read further in the series.

    4. Rating - 3.5/5I don't usually read urban fantasy, but I did enjoy this one. The concept was interesting and I liked the idea of the Therians (shapeshifters) existing along with humans and elves in our world. I was occasionally confused by some characters' reasoning for their actions, but I think another read will clear it up. I am interested enough to read the next in the series when it comes out and I'll definitely keep following the author and her career. Definitely recommend for anyone who li [...]

    5. It took me a while to get oriented in the story and discover who the Therians were and what their shape-shifting entailed. The formal voice of point-of-view character General Baran may have added to the difficulty. This is a well-thought-out culture and alternate Earth history, and it's fascinating to watch the interaction among the various Therian species.Baran is well-matched with the unconventional tracker, Raina, who provides my favourite line in the story when she asks him, "Do you only spea [...]

    6. A genuine pleasure from start to finish! The touches of modern life mixed with the "old world" ethics and morals gave it a unique twist. Rogers really captures the hybrid of man and beast with her descriptions of the movements and habits of the therianthropes! Her characters are wonderful, and I can't wait for the next one!

    7. Fun beginning to the series!I'd read one other story in this series previously, and I think on balance I like Baran's voice better than what I'd heard of Raina's in the other story. The end was a bit of a surprise because I figured he'd have rather just been done with her, so it will be interesting to see where this goes from here.

    8. What a great story. Fantasy is not a genre I usually read but Kimberly has changed my mind. Once I got into the story, I couldn't put it down. Strong characters and a good storyline kept this moving rapidly. I am most definitely looking forward to the rest of this series set up in this novella. I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

    9. I really enjoyed this fantasy. I'm so glad the book, Where the Light May Lead, introduced me to it. Guess I'll go finish that book now. Then I want to read more in this series.
